CAMP 2025 IMPACT STORY from Coastal VA!
This summer, 63 athletes from Coastal VA attended FCA Competitor’s Camp at Liberty University. 43 of them received some type of scholarship to attend. These scholarships were made possible by generous individuals, churches, and foundations. The impact was felt by all the athletes who attended, but 2 brothers from the Eastern Shore were truly impacted by the Lord at camp.
The first brother accepted the Lord as a young child at the Good News Club, but came to a deeper understanding of his faith at camp. He goes to church with his mother every Sunday and has family devotionals and prayer time, but the authentic nature of huddles at camp helped him grow in his personal walk as he re-committed his life to Lord at camp. “ He has shown me over and over again how much He loves me and that He will always provide. This proved true as I got the opportunity to attend a camp that my mother would not have been able to afford. Thank you so much for your support.”
The second brother also had a powerful experience at camp. Prior to camp, “I was not a hundred percent convinced that God is real because I could not understand how he came to be.” His week at Liberty was transformational. His words tell the story.
“FCA camp at Liberty changed all that. The songs were upbeat and youthful and I could not help but to sing. The messages and huddle time were personal and catered to my interests and level. I met God in a personal way and chose to accept him as my Lord and Savior.”
He also comes from a Christian home where the Word of God is taught and shared weekly, but this scholarship truly made a difference in his life and spiritual walk with the Lord. He also added, “ I wish that camp could continue after camp. Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to attend, as my mom is a single parent and would not have been able to afford it. I was truly blessed by the Word of God shared and cannot wait for next year's camp.”
These two young men are just a few of the 63 who were impacted by camp and 43 who were able to attend because of a scholarship.
